“I Chose Openshot as My Linux Video Editing Software of Choice”

From the home hobbyist to corporate video departments, the requirements are straightforward: straightforward video editing that allowed importing of raw video from multiple sources, easy clip and audio manipulation, and easy export to multiple formats. Free applications like Apple’s iMovie and Microsoft’s Video Editor cover the basics, but fail to offer the power of Adobe Premiere (which comes with a steep learning curve and hefty price tag).

Meanwhile, a Linux-compatible option has been opensource.com contributor Seth Kenlon’s editor of choice for the past few years: Python-based Openshot.

“Openshot remains a great little video editing application for Linux, and it’s managed to make creating videos on Linux boring in the best of ways.”

Head over to oensource.com to read up on why Openshot deserves a download by anyone looking for a better video editing solution without having to leave Linux.
