“For many years, computer users have been able to run
processor-intensive speech recognition applications executing
commands based on voice processing and requiring extensive
configuration. While recent advances in processing power and
algorithms have brought about user-independent voice recognition
with reduced error rates, excellent opportunities exist for a
simple tone pattern-based recognition system. Using the recently
released sndpeek program to do the sophisticated processing, we
will run a simple Perl program to allow for the easy generation of
tonal codes. A Perl script will be presented to allow the user to
customize the tonal input and detection environment.”
