Update of Object Rexx for Linux available!

Seen on C.O.L.A.

That’s right.
————————————————————–
A new version of Object REXX for Linux , namely V1.2, is available
now for download from http://www6.software.ibm.com/dl/rexx/orexxlinux-p.

It provides a lot of new features, such as support of FTP
through the RxFtpt function library and a new enhanced set of
documentation including the “Object REXX for Linux Programming
Guide” describing the use of the Object REXX language and its full
set of programming APIs.

Quite a few additional programming examples go with it to
demonstrate their proper usage and show how to build your own
function libraries. And the download is for free! Anyway, explore
the power of Object REXX and have fun with Object REXX for Linux
V1.2 .

Our (O)REXX webpages on http://www.software.ibm.com/ad/obj-rexx
(“News”, “Downloads”, and “Education”) will be updated ASAP. They
need some more modifications. =:)

About this announcement, Rony G. Flatscher writes on
news.wu-wien.ac.at:

Just detected that IBM has released an update to Object Rexx for
Linux:

http://www.software.ibm.com/ad/obj-rexx/

Choose Linux and go to the download page. The Linux version
contains all the documentation in PDF

REXXPG.PDF … introduction to Rexx and Object Rexx
programming

REXXREF.PDF …. reference for Object Rexx

RXFTP.PDF …… documentation for RxFtp()

RXSOCK.PDF ….. documentation for RxSock()

Also, if you look up the above URL and stroll around a little
bit you’ll find interesting introductionary stuff as well as great
(Object) Rexx gimmicks, like the HTML-package (as introduced at
this year’s International Rexx symposium in Jacksonville/Florida)
or the Internet-package (making socket programming a breeze).
