“Oracle and Sybase will provide added momentum to Linux this
week when they introduce products and support for the open-source
operating system at the Linux World trade show in San Jose,
Calif.”

“The announcements come as Linux and Linux applications continue
to gain popularity with IT departments. “Linux is a lot of bang for
the buck,” says David Bloom, CIO at Isiah.com LLC, an online
marketing firm.”

“Sybase plans to introduce version 11.9.2 of its Adaptive Server
Enterprise database system for Linux platforms. Sybase will provide
the same customer support and service for the product on Linux as
it does for Unix and Windows NT platforms.”
