“IBM did its part on Tuesday to give Linux more credibility
among corporate accounts announcing here at the LinuxWorld show its
intention to port its Tivoli Enterprise systems management software
to the open source operating system. The company also made a
preview of its Lotus Domino, Release 5, available for
download.”

“The company’s Global Services group announced it will provide a
range of different services for Linux for users worldwide ranging
from consulting and enablement assistance to operational support
services including 24-hour technical assistance.”

“Also part of Tuesday’s series of announcements, IBM has
expanded its existing relationship with Red Hat to include a
broader range of marketing activities as well as working together
to recruit and train software developers and resellers. The two
companies also plan to use Red Hat’s portal to improve their
marketing capabilities.”
