InfoWorld: IBM readies spruced-up applications suite for NT

“While he would not commit to a specific time frame, Sullivan
said IBM is taking a hard look at delivering a similar application
server suite for Linux, which is gathering momentum among many of
its corporate customers.”

“We are looking at doing a suite for Linux. Based on what many
customers tell us, they want the same level of integration across
applications that we now have available on NT,” Sullivan
said…”

“IBM would still have to do a version of the Windows NT suite’s
Installer and perhaps sample applications for the proposed Linux
version. Sullivan said IBM could deliver a Linux version in
next year’s second quarter.
