InfoWorld: Investors OK Corel rights plan, look to Linux

“Corel executives said product upgrades and a forthcoming
version of Linux, to go into beta testing in August, will help the
company get back into profitability.”

“In addition, Michael Cowpland, company chief executive officer,
also said this week at the meeting that Corel will launch in August
a beta version of Corel Desktop Linux, a version of the operating
system that has graphical end-user features and is designed to be
easy to install. The public unveiling of the system is expected to
be in the fourth quarter, according to spokeswoman Hughes.”
