“However, that freedom could turn out to be a curse in disguise,
according to analyst Joshua Greenbaum, a principal at Enterprise
Applications Consulting.”

“‘I think the whole open-source code movement is profoundly
antithetical [to enterprise computing],’ Greenbaum said on
Friday.”

“Without a central authority regulating the standard for an
operating system or application and documenting all features and
changes, the system or program could split into incompatible
versions or develop problems that could not be diagnosed, Greenbaum
said.”
