“Keen to show its bullishness over Linux has been well placed,
database company Oracle on Tuesday announced it has over
800customers for Oracle8 on Linux — half of them enterprise
customers.”

“Oracle also announced that during the past nine days, about
20,000 people have registered for the early-access version of
Oracle8i on Linux. Another 50,000 developers have downloaded the
free developer’s version of Oracle8 on Linux from the Oracle
Technology Network.”
