InternetWeek: VA Linux Hosts Open-Source Developer Site

“Linux hardware provider VA Linux Systems last week moved to
extend its role as a portal for open-source development.”

“The company, which sells build-to-order servers bundled with
the Linux operating system, introduced SourceForge, a Web site
quietly launched 10 weeks ago to bring together separate
open-source development projects under one umbrella….”

Since the initiative began, some 3,000 open-source
developers have worked on 700 projects
, VA Linux said. While
helping drive open-source development, SourceForge could make VA
Linux’s products more appealing as a one-stop supplier for Linux
solutions, said Summit Strategies analyst Dwight Davis.”
