“Dell is among the vendors shipping Windows 2000 beta 3 desktops
this week to firms that want to try out Microsoft’s operating
system before its final release in the autumn.”

“However, the UK version of Microsoft’s Corporate Preview
Programme (CPP) has arrived a month later than expected because the
software giant made some last-minute alterations to the beta, and
demand for the product is expected to be muted.”

“Under Dell’s Windows 2000 Premier Migration Programme,
corporate customers can purchase dual-boot Optiplex PCs with
Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 beta 3 pre-installed. A charge for
the beta software of £34 will include installation and email
technical support, said James Griffiths, Dell’s product marketing
manager for Optiplex desktops.”
