“CATC (Computer Access Technology Corporation) today
announced the release of Scyld Computing’s Linux software driver
for the NetMate USB-to-Ethernet Link.
This driver brings the
stability and performance of Linux to an increasing number of CATC
NetMate users in the rapidly growing server space.”

“The NetMate connects PCs and laptops to an Ethernet network
through the USB port. The Scyld Computing Linux driver for NetMate
provides a no-modification addition of USB support for the Linux
2.2 kernel. The driver integrates the convenience and simplicity of
USB plug & play into the Linux kernel.”

“Scyld developers have been providing code for the Linux kernel
since 1992. The majority of our contributions have been
incorporated in the standard kernel and distributions of Linux”,
stated Dr. Paul Coleman, president and chief executive officer of
Scyld. “The Linux driver for CATC’s NetMate is another example of
our dedication and focus on promoting the expanding use of Linux in
networking applications.”
