Jerusalem Post: Linux takes center stage at Israel Comdex show

“Linux International, the new and free operating system
developed by Linus Torvald, was clearly the star of the show at the
Comdex exhibition which opened for the first time in Israel
yesterday.”

At an opening press conference at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds,
Jon (Mad Dog) Hall, the executive director of Linux International,
was joined by several key business leaders, including John Vrolyk,
a senior vice president at Silicon Graphics Inc., and David Assia,
co-founder and executive chairman of Magic Software Enterprises, in
singing the praises of the new operating system that is challenging
Microsoft’s Windows.

“Up to a year ago Linux, which was developed by engineers
working in their free time, was considered a low-key tool for
techies. But in the 12 months since then, the number of users has
boomed, said Hall.”
