While many users and developers out there are looking for a time when Wayland rules the Linux desktop, Keith Packard remains focused on bettering X11/X.Org and keeping it going.

With Keith Packard having been working on X since the late 80’s and is serving as the current X.Org Server release manager, he certainly has a vested interest in keeping X going, particularly after the round of modernization work over the past few years of kernel mode-setting, DRI3, moving towards hardware-independent drivers like xf86-input-libinput and xf86-video-modesetting, etc. He remains focused on making the X.Org Server better.
