Considering all the hype that has recently surrounded the
news by Rivyn that KDE and Gnome are sharing a component model I
think it is important for a clarification.

“The news release was incorrect in saying that anyone in the KDE
component model development team was contacted about this project.
Not that any of us feel interoperability is a bad idea, it is just
rather surprising to find that the idea of dropping our current
object model and replacing it with a new one has developer support
among those involved with KParts is surprising since no one
involved in the project was even asked… Thus the article is
misleading. Since then the KParts developers have been contacted,
but only after they found out that they supported the idea via
Linux news outlets ;-)”
