“A group of domestic computer retailers, who recently attacked
the software giant Microsoft Corp. for its price policy of Windows
98 and the method of cracking down on piracy, is set to stage a
mass rally across the nation today.”
“In a pre-released statement, the National Software Emergency
Committee (NSEC), grouping 19 computer retailers associations, said
it will step up pressure on Microsoft to mend fences in what they
termed “monopolistic” pricing of the ubiquitous computer
operating system.”
“The committee called for Microsoft to return the money to the
victimized retailers and also compensate for the loss they have
incurred in a legal wrangling and grueling investigation.”
