Jeff Finn is the President and Chief Executive Officer of
eSoft, a company that provides Linux-based Internet appliances and
services. He served as senior vice president of Evolving Systems, a
company specializing in software solutions for the
telecommunications industry.

“Linux.com: How would you compare eSoft to companies selling
similar integrated hardware products focused on Linux, such as
Cobalt Networks and Rebel.com?”

“Jeff Finn: The primary difference between eSoft and Cobalt is
that eSoft is a software and services company and our primary focus
is not on the hardware of our products. Cobalt has an approach in
which it is very focused on the hardware of its products. We see
the value being in our software and have developed our software to
be easily integrated onto any third-party server manufacturer’s
hardware. We also outsource the hardware portion of our software,
which allows us to focus on our area of expertise – software
development.”
