Mike Orr is SCO’s senior vice president of Worldwide
Marketing, which encompasses product marketing, strategy and
business planning, and corporate communications.

“Linux.com: When did SCO decide to focus its efforts on Linux
and Open Source?”

“Mike Orr: SCO has been involved with the Open Source movement
for many years. For example, we have supplied Open Source software
such as Apache, Sendmail, KDE, Squid, etc. as a supplement to our
OpenSource and Unixware products. We joined Linux International as
a corporate sponsor in 1998. We have always been a proponent of
Open Systems and see Open Source as a natural extension. We decided
to extend our efforts to include professional services for Linux in
August 1999.”
