Canadian software makers team up with PC Chips to deploy
Linux OS worldwide.

“Corel Corporation, whose announcements of late have teetered
between the Sad (early reviews of the Corel Linux beta) and the
Tragic (the insider trading charges against CEO Michael Cowpland),
today announced a major OEM (original equipment manufacturer) deal
with PC Chips. The arrangement will have the PC Chips group of
companies shipping its motherboards with Corel Linux. PC Chips will
also ship its motherboards with Corel WordPerfect 8 for Linux, and
will participate in joint marketing efforts with the Canadian
software company.”

“Said Johnson Yang, chairman of PC Chips, “This alliance gives
us the opportunity to provide our customers with a Linux OS that is
easy to install and simple for all users to adapt to.”
