“… my biggest peeve is that the major distributions still seem
to be missing the boat on Linux as a desktop OS. It’s almost as if
they are believing the anti-Linux FUD of months past: “Linux is
never going to beat MS on the desktop … Linux is too geeky for
the desktop …”
“Kudos to Caldera Systems for taking the lead in trying to
change all that. Their latest release, Open Linux 2.2, is a
dramatic step in the right direction… But… it still doesn’t
meet business needs touted in the marketing rhetoric being put out
by Microsoft about their MS Windows 2000 Professional product
line.”
