Linux Resources: The Joy of Waiting

“The next time you need yet another argument in favor of
Linuxover a proprietary operating system, consider this: you can
boast that the Linux kernel 2.2 was released at least five months
later than originally expected. You see, way back in May of last
year, during the keynote address at Linux Expo, Linus predicted a
release date of July or August. Yet the new kernel was just
recently released in late January of 1999. It is because of this
delay — not in spite of it — that we should take extra pride in
kernel 2.2.”
