New Site Provides Crucial Service to the Linux Community
LINUX EXPO, Raleigh, NC, May 19, 1999 – Linux Today (linuxtoday.com), the comprehensive
on-line Linux news network, today announced the launch of its
LinuxPR (linuxpr.com) Web site, a
free service offered to journalists and members of the Linux
community. Linux Today has stepped up to fill the role as a leader
in providing a single access point for Linux news, and recognizes
the demand for a PR wire dedicated to the Linux community and
journalists who serve this community. Linux and Open Source related
organizations may now issue press releases through LinuxPR
(linuxpr.com).
With hundreds of Linux and Open Source related press releases
being issued each month, LinuxPR creates a quicker and more
effective vehicle for organizations to get their message out to
journalists and the Linux community. Dave Whitinger, Project
Director of Linux PR, said, “Traditional newswires are great for
communicating to journalists in a broad spectrum, but the
Internet-enabled dynamics of the Linux community benefits most from
a focused area where they may reach those who are interested only
in the latest announcements of Linux-related organizations. LinuxPR
furthers Linux Today’s lead in fulfilling these types of services
by introducing LinuxPR.”
LinuxPR is available for use now. Organizations, journalists and
interested readers are invited to submit and view press releases
free of charge through www.linuxpr.com.
