links is a text console web browser, similar in concept to
lynx. Its best feature is its ability to properly display
table-based HTML pages.
Version 0.84 is the latest
developmental release. links is licensed under the GNU GPL.”

“lynx, the well-known console web browser predecessor, can
recognize tables, but it doesn’t really display them. links, on the
other hand, can format HTML pages with full recognition of tables.
In some cases, it can result in web pages that require more than
the normal 80 columns. links accomodates for this with horizontal
scrolling controls: [ to scroll left and ] to scroll right. Each
keypress scrolls the screen horizontally by eight characters.
Horizontal scrolling is a handy feature that is well
implemented.”
