“Dear Lina,
I am frequently called upon at work to set up new network printers.
Of course, they always say they need it “yesterday.” If I can get
it up and running quickly, everyone will leave me alone long enough
to finish the job properly. What’s the minimum printcap I can
get away with on my printers and clients?

“Dear Lina,
The whole shop is going Linux. We are, however, thinking of using
different distributions (or custom setups, probably) for different
departments. I’m thinking that, for ease of re-using machines, it
would be good to have the disk layout the same for the lot of
them.

Any suggestions on what will pretty much work for most types of
Linux?”
