In my never-ending series of reviews of useful Gtk and
GNOME applications, I am this time looking at two small, but nice
tools to spice up your GNOME desktop.
The two apps are Grdb, a
small application that makes among others things, your Motif
applications take on the color scheme of your Gtk-theme and Finder
a nice Mac-finder like toolbar for your GNOME desktop.”

“Grdb is being developed by Sam Hunter. It is really simple to
use since you just run it and it makes sure that most of your
Lesstif/Motif, Xaw and TK based apps pick up the main colors of
your Gtk-theme.This means that applications like Netscape and Corel
WordPerfect 7 will be more integrated with the rest of your GNOME
desktop….”

“Finder is developed by Mike Juni and is a small toolbar which
places itself at the top of your screen, and aims to look a little
like its Mac counterpart. Actually it tries to look at lot like its
Mac counterpart using the Apple logo and finder logo. This is one
of my few criticisms of the Finder app, since it is a sure way to
get Apple’s lawyers on the case, and more importantly we are linux,
not Mac users, right?…”
