Topical Forums for Individuals from the Areas of
Administration and Government Authorities Responsible for IT
Matters.

“(Bonn) A series of sessions to be carried out jointly by ID-PRO
AG and well known partners is intended to elucidate the advantages
of open source software and, specifically, those of the free
operating system, GNU/LINUX, for public administrators.”

“The goal of the sessions, which are free for the participants,
is to provide a well-founded background for future investment
decisions, and to answer any questions regarding open source
software. Topics under discussion during the approximately
five-hour-long program therefore include an introductory
presentation, “What is Open Source Software”, primarily offering
examples from the real world as well as a cost comparison between
an open source concept and a proprietary solution for a
medium-sized administrative network.”
