LinuxPR: Appgen adopts Moneydance

“Appgen Business Software, Inc. (Hauppauge, NY) announced today
the signing of an agreement with Reilly Technologies, L.L.C.
(Richmond, VA) by which Appgen acquired exclusive marketing and
distribution rights to Moneydance, “the most Quicken-like”
finance software
as reported in a review published in the
August 2000 issue of Linux Journal. Appgen, a leader in
Linux-native general business and accounting applications, is also
a leader in complete cross-platform solutions sold to the SMB
market through the VAR channel. According to Appgen president and
CEO Jim Kelly, “This is Appgen’s first personal finance product and
it’s the first product that we will market directly to the general
public. It is terrifically well-designed and it will open up whole
new market channels for the company.”

“Moneydance is a Java-based application that makes
management of personal finances fast and easy.
Since
Moneydance is built upon Java technology it will run on virtually
any operating system, including Linux, FreeBSD, OS/2, Solaris,
MacOS, and Windows. In addition, on operating systems such as
Linux, OS/2, and FreeBSD, there is no serious competition for
personal finance software despite the fact that these systems have
tens of millions of users. Moneydance is also perfect for use on
Internet appliances and emerging technologies such as the Qubit
WebTablet, and Java Internet Phone.”
