LinuxPR: Applix Announces Second Quarter Revenues of $14.2 Million and EPS of $0.06 Per Share

“Applix, Inc. (NASDAQ: APLX), today announced its results for
the second quarter ended June 30, 1999. Revenues increased 15% to
$14.2 million compared to $12.3 million for the quarter ended June
30, 1998. Net income for the second quarter of 1999 was $655,000,
or $0.06 per diluted share, representing a 215% increase from a net
income of $208,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, for the same period
in 1998.”

the quarter we focused on key objectives that included the
formation of the ‘Applix Linux Division,’ which is concentrated on
becoming a brand leader in providing applications and support for
the emerging Linux community and Open Source Software movement.
Secondly, we introduced a new web site, ‘SmartBeak.com’, which is
designed to bring together the support and collaboration needs of
the Linux community and Open Source Software developers and users.
In addition, we combined our customer relationship management and
business intelligence product lines to provide an integrated,
web-based, customer-centric CRM and Analytics solution. And today,
we have strengthened our efforts in strategic partnerships and
alliances through the hiring of a senior level executive, Suzanne
Hoffman. Suzanne will focus on rapidly expanding this channel of
marketing and sales, particularly in North America.'”
