LinuxPR: Beta Release of System G File System GUI

“New Planet Software announces the beta release of its System G
utility software. As noted in a previous announcement, this release
applies New Planet’s new licensing model.”

System G provides an elegant, graphical interface to the
Linux file system that makes it easy to manipulate files and
directories.
Beta release 1 of version 2.0.0 incorporates
these exciting new features:”

  • Improved interface to file bindings and for running
    commands.
  • Auto-mounting of disks when the associated directory is
    opened
  • Format UNIX and DOS floppy disks.
  • Move/copy files by dropping on iconified windows.
  • Improved interface to trash can.
  • Improved updating of directory contents when working over
    NFS.
  • On-line help is now searchable.
  • Support for European languages that even allows translation
    without recompilation
  • Works with Gnome and KDE session managers
