LinuxPR: Corel Acquires Equity Stake in Simply.com

Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:
CORL, TSE: COR) today announced it has acquired a 10 percent equity
stake in Simply.com, a
multi-million dollar company that manufactures and markets optimum
videoconference solutions designed around the clients business
model.”

“Simply.com, whose current products service applications in
government, education, health care, aero-space industry, and the
financial sector, will be focusing on bringing
videoconferencing, streaming and images to the Linux market. In the
future, Corel LINUX OS will be integrated with Simply.com
videoconferencing products bringing people around the world face to
face.”

“In November, 1999, Corel signed a deal to transfer
substantially all of its assets related to the
CorelVIDEOTM product line to Simply.com
Inc.”
