LinuxPR: GIG reduces 3D software prices for 1999 LinuxWorld Expo

“Global Information Group USA, Inc. (GIG) announced today that
GIG3DGO; the first, and only, advanced 3D solid modeling, animation
and rendering system running on the LINUX operating system, will be
priced at US$199.90 for the duration of the LINUXWORLD Expo. The
package is regularly priced at US$995.00.”

“The GIG product line, which also includes GIGVIZ; a truly
photorealistic visualization tool aimed at CAD users; provides an
easy-to-use and fully featured 3D graphics tool set for LINUX users
to produce stunningly realistic imagery based on GIG’s Constructive
Solid Geometry (CSG) modeller and fast raytrace renderer.”

“GIGVIZ enhances compatibility of its LINUX version with a
comprehensive set of dedicated converters, allowing the user to
import geometry models from AutoCAD, 3D-Studio, Pro|Engineer,
Varimetrix, Wavefront and many other packages into GIG for
visualisation and rendering.”
