If you use the World Wide Web, you may already have
DVD-viewing software for Linux on your computer and not realize it,
even if you don’t have Linux or a DVD player.

“That’s because Linux users and Internet experts showed support
for free distribution of DVD viewing software for Linux. They
participated in an Internet contest aimed at developing innovative
methods to distribute the software — and some methods they
developed hide the code in ordinary, harmless web images and
sounds.”

“Two projects deserving of special mention are Freenet and
Copyleft,” said Don Marti, publicity director of the Silicon Valley
Linux Users Group.”
