LinuxPR: Halcyon’s iASP: Free Active Server Page support for Intel-based Linux systems

“Halcyon Software, Inc. (http://www.halcyonsoft.com)
announced today that it is making its award-winning product,
Instant ASP(tm) (iASP), available for free to users of Intel-based
Linux systems. iASP is a Java implementation of the
industry-standard Microsoft
(NASDAQ: MSFT) Active Server
Page (ASP) framework, and will allow businesses and individuals an
extremely cost-effective way to create and run interactive web
sites.”

“John Francis, Halcyon’s Directory of Marketing commented,
“Linux users gain support for the extremely flexible and popular
ASP programming environment, and, in combination with the Linux
operating system, Apache web server and the MySQL relational
database, all of which are open-source, get a full-fledged web
development system for the cost of hardware only, saving thousands
of dollars in OS licenses.”

“Halcyon’s iASP, winner of ASPGuild’s (http://www.aspguild.org) Top Tool for
2000 award, lets developers deploy web applications using the
popular Microsoft Active Server pages framework, on any
Java-enabled platform. Some of iASP’s competitive highlights
include its support for VBScript and JScript version 5.0 as well as
its ability to be localized for double-byte languages such as
Chinese, Japanese and Korean. iASP includes full support for ADO
and CDO and interfaces with multiple component architectures,
including JavaBeans, Enterprise JavaBeans, and CORBA components. In
addition, iASP can also be tightly integrated with popular
application servers including IBM WebSphere, Sun iPlanet, Oracle
Application Server and BEA WebLogic. Current major iASP customers
include Agilent, Verizon, Amerisource, and many others.”
