“Linbox, the inventor of Linbox Network Architecture (LNA) and
leading Linux Network Computer designer in Europe, announced today
that Europ@Web, the Internet industrial arm of Group Arnault, and
Financière de Brienne, have invested 2.5 million Euros
(US$2.25M) in the company.”
“Linbox will use these funds to develop its range of
professional services to schools, small organisations and corporate
networks looking for an affordable, easy-to-install,
easy-to-maintain network computing solution that is fully
compatible with legacy applications and operating systems.
Linbox Network Architecture is an open approach to Linux Network
Computing based on diskless standard computers on the desktop side
(such as the Linbox Net Station), and full featured servers (such
as the Linbox Net Server).”
“The Linbox Network Architecture allows users and systems
integrators to bring the power of Linux to the desktop at minimal
costs while still preserving user investments in Windows or MacOS
software,” said Jean Pierre Laisné, CEO of Linbox. “Diskless
Linbox Net Stations can be set up in a matter of minutes by users
with no previous skills in the Linux environment and require no
maintenance.”
