“OpenReach, Inc., a provider of network-independent virtual
private network (VPN) services, and Penguin Computing Inc., a San
Francisco, Calif.-based provider of reliable Linux systems for
Internet serving, today announced a strategic OEM agreement to
co-develop an appliance solution that will enable businesses to
outsource the deployment and management of secure virtual private
networks.”

“The pre-configured combination of OpenReach Gateway Software,
which runs on any standard PC, and Penguin Computing’s servers,
will create the industry’s first enterprise VPN appliance that
provides customers with a turnkey solution for building global
intranet or extranet communication networks. Combining Penguin
Computing’s reliable servers with the OpenReach managed VPN service
provides a global VPN solution built on open hardware and software
standards that has the flexibility, price-performance, and
reliability that today’s enterprise customers require.”
