“If increasing demand for telephone support indicates the growth
of Linux, then consider Linux growing. Today, Bynari, Inc.
announced an increase in its price for pay-per-incident phone
support. After August 31, 1999, a single incident will rise from
$35 to $39. Customers who registered prior to August 31st will
continue to receive service at the old price for one year. The
increase reflects added costs of doing business.

“Demand for level II type support surprised us,” says Nick
Donovan, Sr. V.P. “We’re providing a higher level of sophistication
in the call center than we expected. Instead of someone wanting
help on the desktop, they ask for assistance in configuring DNS and
Sendmail. That requires more time but we still consider it an
incident.”
