“I recently complained in the ITworld.com Linux Community
Discussion forum about my problems with kmail. But one of the main
reasons I started using KDE as my primary GUI last year was that
kmail delivered the functionality I needed in an email client.
Here’s what happened.”

“KDE’s built-in email client, kmail, can handle multiple
accounts and multiple folders. It includes an easy-to-use address
book. In addition, it provides intelligent filtering so I can have
recurring mail organized into the appropriate folders as it is
received. These features have become requirements for me.”

If you’re like me, you send and receive a substantial
amount of mail, your livelihood depends on it, and you need to
store messages for long periods of time, so you don’t treat the
selection of your email client as a trivial or unimportant task. I
have three candidates on my short list, culled from those that have
been recommended to me. They all appear to be good candidates for
the job. The list includes Balsa, xfmail, and cscmail.
