MacWEEK: Torvalds jumps to Linux 2.4

“If you wanted to hear Linus Torvalds talk about the growth
of Linux or sagaciously opine on the beauty of open source
software, you came to the wrong keynote.

“Instead, the creator of the Linux operating system delivered an
anti-keynote here Tuesday at LinuxWorld.

“He briefly outlined which features made the cut for the OS’
next version, 2.4, and said he hopes to see it finished by
year-end. Then, in true open-source style, he dedicated the rest of
his time to answering questions. The technical but unscripted
approach played well to his audience, which contained a large bloc
of developers.”
