Business Case of the Week

Almost
Everything on Mandrake.
The Monolithic Dome
Institute
uses Mandrake Linux for their webserver, mail
server, firewall, and three workstations. Their online newspaper
receives 50,000 visitors every month and runs on Mandrake 9.0 &
PHP-Nuke from Contribs.

“Next year, I plan to switch everything over to Mandrake. A new
fileserver, print server, and switching every desktop over to
Mandrake. We will only have one or two computers left on Windows,
the rest will be Mandrake: 50 stations.”

Headlines from MandrakeClub.com

Undercover beta
program?
“Warly was about to collapse from hunger, so I had to
let him go, but ISOs are available on all the usual mirrors, so go
ahead and give them a try. Have fun, and don’t forget to put
protective gloves when handling these ISOs: they are really hot.”

Ready
for some [more] beta-testing?
Deno has a few more weeks left as
a MandrakeSoft employee. He promised to clean up the code at
MandrakeClub.com before leaving, and asks for your help to test
it:

LDAP
and Samba articles on MandrakeSecure.
Vincent Danen writes: “In
the last month three new articles have appeared on MandrakeSecure.
The first is an updated revision of the “Using LDAP for
Authentication” article I wrote a year ago, with more information
on how to do the job. The other two articles, written by Jim
Collings and Buchan Milne, deal more with Samba and it’s
relationship to using LDAP for authentication, and goes into more
detail about PDC’s and BDC’s, disconnected authentication, and LDAP
replication. All three articles are a must read for anyone
interested in and looking at using LDAP for authentication, be it
for Linux-only use or Linux/Windows.”
