early stage of development (“pre-alpha,” the Web site warns).”

“uClinux probably does not have a lot of commercial potential,
but thankfully, that is not the point. Like most of the Linux
efforts underway, the developers ported Linux to the Pilot just
because they could. And because they understood that Linux is more
than a piece of software.”
