New 1.12 version of IBM Jikes Java compiler has been released

The Jikes team would like to announce the 1.12 version of Jikes,
IBM’s Java compiler. You may already be familiar with Jikes, it was
IBM’s first open source project. If you do not already know about
Jikes, you can always read about it on the Jikes project
home-page.

Ever since the source code to jikes was released, jikes has been
maintained and improved by a group of hackers on the net. The 1.12
release is a result of those efforts. We hope you enjoy it.
