home-appliance and big-ticket retailers, believes its shift to the
Linux operating system will be the springboard for growth.”

Director Alex Heffer said the firm started work on a Linux
version of its Retail-Plus product a year ago out of frustration at
coping with continuous changes to NT and Novell
servers…

“At times, problems with Windows, Novell and NT networking have
been close to destroying our business and yet during this same
period Retail-Plus has performed very reliably under Unix at our
five largest sites.”
