“Pacific HiTech (PHT), the Tokyo-based producer of Turbo Linux,
says it sees a bright future for the open operating system in
China.”

“China is pretty hot,” Cliff Miller, chief executive officer of
Pacific HiTech, told Newsbytes. “There’s been a lot of interest
over there in Linux. We got a Chinese version out and right away it
was gobbled up.” It’s not just computer engineers that are grabbing
the software either. “Some of the government departments and big
enterprises seem to be taking a liking to Linux.”
