“As had been rumored, Corel Corp. [NASDAQ:COSFF] has announced
it will bring to market its own distribution of Linux, the open
source operating system (OS) that hit the big time this year. Corel
says its plans include an “invisible” Linux, easy to install, with
a user-friendly interface.”

“Newsbytes notes Corel is jumping into an ever more crowded US
market that has seen new Linux distributions arrive — or at least
be promoted for the first time — seemingly almost every week.”

“Corel made its announcement at the LinuxWorld conference on
Tuesday. Corel president and chief executive officer Dr. Michael
Cowpland, who gave one of three keynote addresses, told the
audience Corel’s distribution should be released this
November.”
