“Net Talk, the animated Internet conferencing service, has
launched a Linux client for its free-to-use service.”

“Steve Tover, the firm’s president, said that this is the
first time that Linux users have access to an animated online
conferencing service, let alone a service with high-quality
Internet telephony communications available.

“Tover said that the development allows people with Red Hat
Linux to take advantage of the benefits of Net Talk’s unique Voice
over IP (Internet Protocol) technology, in order to better
communicate over the Internet.”

“The Java client, which can be downloaded in under a minute
across most Internet connections, allows groups of Internet users
on different computer platforms to speak to each other from the Net
Talk community Web site, as well as from Web sites using the Net
Talk software.”
