making use of Linux, but serving remains the dominant role and few
companies have any plans for Linux on the desktop, a new survey has

“However, Linux’ role in corporations appears firmly cemented in
the server market. While 63% of respondents saw a future for Linux
as either a data, applications or infrastructure server, only 13%
saw it playing any significant role on the desktop. Reinforcing
that impression, just 2.2% of those surveyed had purchased a system
with Linux pre-installed.”
