[ Linux Today reader Cruise writes: ]

OpenVerse Visual Chat is
a software being developed under the GPL which offeres a new way
for users of all major platforms to communicate.
The software
is being developed using the Tcl/Tk scripting language which is
supported on all major OS platforms.”

Users use full color avatars to represent themselves on a
640×480 viewing screen. the tools available to the users allow for
much greater expression than normal text-based systems. With
plugins, the
application can be further extended and enhanced (such as the
WebCam and MP3 Server/Grabber plugins which have become quite
popular.) Developers are sought to further advance the project.
Anyone wishing to become part this new and exciting project should
visit the web page at http://openverse.org. There are many
tasks which could use the help of knowledgable TCL
programmers.”
