Thanks to Robert Osterlund for
this announcement.

PIKT, an innovative new paradigm for administering heterogeneous
networked workstations, is a multi-functional tool for
monitoring systems, reporting and fixing problems, and managing
system configurations.

Release 1.6.0 adds a new piktc option for remote execution but
with no wait; another new piktc option for remote execution of
command-line commands (like a smart, macro- aware rsh/ssh);
considerably reduces the overhead for most piktc commands, making
them run faster; allows for partial configurations with subsets of
the eight basic config files; adds over a dozen new script language
functions; and incorporates many other changes and
improvements.

PIKT is distributed under the GNU General Public License. For
more information, please visit the PIKT Web site at: http://pikt.uchicago.edu/pikt.
