“Following the release of the third generation of GNOME just
under two weeks ago, the GNOME Project’s plans for the next
development milestone are firming up.

“The project will stick to its usual six-monthly release cycle
and preparations for the next major revision will be carried out in
a version number series carrying an odd second digit.

“According to the current draft schedule, the first 3.1x version
will be released in May. This will lay the groundwork for GNOME
3.2.0, which is scheduled for release on 28 September.”
