“EventLoop is pleased to announce the porting of the GNU Image
Manipulation Program (GIMP) to the new BeOS an operating system
designed for digital media applications on desktop computers and
Internet appliances. This application will bring powerful image
editing and creation tools solutions to the BeOS desktopBeOS users.
GIMP is a photo manipulation and digital painting package
supporting many of the features of mainstream commercial products.
GIMP is a community- developed free software product that currently
runs on UNIX platforms. Under the terms of the GNU General Public
License (GPL), EventLoop’s porting modifications will be
contributed back to the community.”

“We think porting GIMP to BeOS will help refine and polish GIMP
further, which will increase it’s user base on all platforms. We
will be contributing code and user testing to the free software
